Visual Aid
- Choose or create wisely.
- Showing the visual aid does count towards your time minimum of 3 minutes.
- A video should not just repeat what you say in your speech, nor should the video do all the talking for you.
- If you show a video, you should speak longer than it does.
- A poster or powerpoint should include great information/graphics you can show during your speech.
- Don't forget to include your sources on your pictures!
- A few of you have run into the problem of showing your visual aid at the very end as an afterthought.
- It would be BEST if your visual aid was WITHIN the speech so that you can lead us into it, take us out of it, and still have a solid conclusion at the end of your speech.
- Prepare your visual aid early so you can practice with it to know if you have enough time.
